Condensed System and Transition Temperature

CONDENSED SYSTEM

The system in which only solid and liquids are considered and the experiments are carried out under atmospheric pressure, is called as condensed system.

Transition Temperature

Under certain conditions polymorphic substances have a transition state of which two crystalline forms can co-exist in equilibrium. Whereas, above and below this temperature only one or both forms, respectively are stable. The transition temperature is thus analogous to the melting point of a solid.
